For this post, I thought it would be fun to recap some of the most interesting conversations from 2019. It was challenging keeping it to a dozen, but here are some of the stand-out conversation. Polyup is a free and open computational thinking playground allowing players to experiment with numbers, functions, and more, in a visually engaging, drag-and-drop environment.

- Season 5: Episode 34 – Art of Screen Time – Interview with Anya Kamenetz – Anya is the author of several fascinating books on education and parenting, including her most recent – The Art of Screen Time – How Your Family Can Balance Digital Media and Real Life.
- Season 5: Episode 36 – Who You Know – Interview with Julia Freeland Fisher – We spoke with Julia Freeland Fisher, author of Who You Know: Unlocking Innovations That Expand Students’ Networks. Julia is director of education research at the Clayton Christensen Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank.
- Season 5: Episode 38 – Get Weird – Interview with CJ Casciotta – We welcomed CJ Casciotta, founder of Ringbeller and author of Get Weird. CJ is a writer and serial media maker passionate about helping people discover and own their unique identity or in other words, what makes them weird.
- Season 6: Episode 2 – Invent to Learn – Interview with Sylvia Martinez – We spoke with Sylvia Martinez, co-author with Dr. Gary Stager of Invent to Learn Making, Tinkering and Engineering in the Classroom, a book that has been described as the “bible of the maker movement for classrooms.”
- Season 6: Episode 4 – Art of Problem Solving – Interview with Richard Rusczyk and Grayson Maas – Richard is the founder of Art of Problem Solving website and co-writer with Sandor Lehoesky of the original Art of Problem Solving books. Grayson joined AoPS in 2015 and is the Chief Communications Officer.
- Season 6: Episode 6 – Faster Than 20 – Interview with Eugene Eric Kim – We spoke to Eugene Eric Kim about his work at Faster Than 20. Eugene is a collaboration coach, trainer, and designer, focused on helping changemakers practice the skills they need to work effectively in groups.
- Season 6: Episode 8 – Thrive: How Schools Will Win the Education Revolution – Interview with Grant Lichtman – We spoke to Grant Lichtman, author of the recently published Thrive: How Schools Will Win the Education Revolution. Grant is an internationally-recognized thought leader on the transformation of K-12 education.
- Season 6: Episode 12 – Moving to a Finite Earth Economy––Crew Manual – Interview with David Houle – We spoke to David Houle, a futurist, thinker and speaker, about his most recent book trilogy: Moving to a Finite Earth Economy––Crew Manual.
- Season 6: Episode 17 – Teaching Life – Interview with Armand Doucet – We spoke to Armand about his new book, Teaching Life: Our Calling, Our Choices, Our Challenges. Teaching Life brings the voices of teachers into the global conversation about educational reform to offer a how-to for implementing design thinking, technology integration and a holistic education based on competencies, social-emotional learning and the literacies into classrooms.
